The Galax GeForce RTX 4060 EX is for gamers that don’t want to spend much to have a modern GPU, supporting DLSS3 and offering decent performance in most popular games. Moreover, thanks to its compact dimensions, this graphics card is ideal for small form factor chassis. Its cooling system is pretty strong though, including a pair or RGB-lit fans.
After GeForce the RTX 4070, NVIDIA released the RTX 4060 Ti, addressing users on tight budgets. The RTX 4060 followed for even tighter budgets. Similar to the 4060 Ti, the latter is based on the Ada Lovelace graphics architecture, including the third-generation RTX for improved graphics quality. While the 4060Ti uses the 5 nm AD106, which debuted in the mobile RTX 4070 in full capability, the 4060 uses the AD107, which is NVIDIA’s smallest GPU for the 4000 generation. The RTX 4060 features the following:
- 3072 Cuda cores
- 24 RT cores
- 96 Tensor cores
- 96 TMUs
- 48 ROPs
- 8 GB GDDR6 with a 128-bit bus width
The Galax GeForce RTX 4060 EX uses a single 6+2 pin connector. With the official TDP at 115W, the single PCIe won’t have any issues. Moreover, the Galax GeForce RTX 4060 EX comes overclocked from the factory, with its boost clock set at 2565MHz, while the reference is 2460MHz, while the memory runs at the stock speed with 17Gbps bandwidth. The price is at the MSRP of $300, 100 dollars lower than the Galax RTX 4060 Ti EX.
Like all GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs, the RTX 4060 supports Shader Execution Reordering (SER), the new RT core engines, and DLSS 3, which is future-proof. I have covered the most important features, including DLSS3 and Reflex, in the Galax GeForce RTX 4060 Ti EX White review. Still, I will also include the relevant pages in this article for readers that want to stay on the 4060 review.
