Does your PC Wake Up Unexpectedly In Hibernate/ Sleep State? Easy Fix!

Hibernate or Sleep on Windows is a state that might be beneficial for some users. Although it may occasionally cause potential problems, it remains a go-to state, especially in businesses and organizations. However, a device may sometimes wake up your PC without your consent. These simple commands should help you spot the “problematic” device. You won’t have to worry about it anymore. Your PC will remain as you left it.

The Commands

  • Open Command Prompt/Powershell/Terminal as an administrator (admin).

  • Type powercfg /lastwake and press Enter on your keyboard. Relevant information will be displayed about the event, the responsible device, and the time it occurred.
  • Additionally, you can type powercfg -devicequery wake_armed to reveal which devices are allowed to wake up your PC (Hibernate/Sleep).

Usually, your keyboard or mouse is the core reason, but even printers might be the issue. Hopefully, these commands will help identify the problem, and your PC will continue to sleep until you need it again.
