Average Noise
The PSU’s average noise output remains below 25 dBA. Despite its compact dimensions, the 135mm cooling fan and the large heatsinks allowed for a low average noise output.
Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 115V
The fan’s below 400 RPM operation lasts long when the combined load on the minor rails remains below 82W. With more than 750W at 12V, the noise exceeds 20 dBA, then drops below that for a short operational period before rising again at around 855W @ 12V, above 25 dBA. The 30 dBA mark is passed at 900W @ 12V, and the fan exceeds 35 dBA at 950W @ 12V. At 1050W @ 12V, you will be treated to more than 40 dBA, but, strangely enough, higher loads on the minor rails mostly drop the noise output to below 40 dBA.
Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 230V
At 230V, the fan speed profile is more relaxed at high loads, with increased noise output shifted at higher loads and smaller 40-45 dBA regions.
