SilverStone Triton 850Rz ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Average Noise

The PSU’s average noise output is sky-high. The lack of proper heatsinks on the secondary side definitely plays a role in this, along with the fan’s relatively small diameter.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 115V

There is no fan-stop feature, and the fan starts at a relatively high noise level, within 25-30 dBA. At 380W, the 30 dBA mark is passed, and with more than 420W, the fan’s noise exceeds 40 dBA. But it doesn’t stop there; with more than 530W, you will enjoy over 45 dBA. The last stop is at 650W, where the noise exceeds 50 dBA! This is one of the noisiest 850W units I have ever tested.

The 230V fan speed profile is a bit more relaxed than the 115V one. Still at high loads, the fan’s noise exceeds 50 dBA.
