The small PCB has one side packed with components, while the other side looks empty! This is a weird design, to say the least. Why choose to have all parts in one place, making airflow challenging, while the other part is totally free, raises design questions. The VRMs handling the minor rails are located on the main PCB, rather than on a daughter board, which is the usual arrangement. Moreover, the 12V FETs are also installed on the main PCB.
On the secondary side, the few electrolytic caps have a clear path to airflow, which is a good feature. Regarding the platform’s design, the primary side features an APFC converter, a half-bridge topology, and an LLC resonant converter for the primary and 12V FETs. The secondary side employs a synchronous rectification scheme and a pair of VRMs to generate the minor rails.
The transient filtering stage contains all the necessary components to block both incoming and outgoing EMI emissions. Typically, it starts at the AC receptacle and continues on the main PCB.
There is an MOV to protect from voltage surges and an NTC thermistor. Moreover, a bypass relay supports the NTC thermistor.
The two parallel bridge rectifiers fully rectify the incoming AC signal.
The APFC converter uses a single Infineon IPW60R060P7 FET and one CREE C6D10065A boost diode. CapXon manufactures the bulk capacitor with a capacity of 560 μF. It is rated for 2,000 hours at 105 °C.
The APFC converter’s bulk capacitor has a voltage rating of 420V, ensuring sufficient headroom from the APFC’s bus voltage, which is typically 380-400V DC.
The APFC controller is a Champion CM6502UHHX.
The two Oriental Semiconductor OSG65R099HT3ZF primary switching FETs are installed in a half-bridge topology, and an LLC resonant converter is used to achieve higher efficiency.
The LLC resonant controller is a Champion CM6901X.
The PSU’s main transformer. One of its main functions is to electrically isolate the primary and secondary sides.
Four Chongqing Pingwei PWC012N04ES FETs regulate the 12V rail. They are installed on the top (business) side of the main PCB.
Two DC-DC converters generate the minor rails. They use four Onsemi NTMFS4C022N FETs. There are also two Anpec APW7073 controllers. Both these converters are on the main PCB’s top side.
ChengX and CS provide the few electrolytic caps. The polymer caps are by Apaq and another brand, which I was unable to identify.
You can find more information about capacitor performance and other specs below:
The standby PWM controller is an Excelliance MOS EM8569C. The secondary rectifier of the standby rail is a Dongke Semiconductor DK5V45R10S.
Several polymer caps at the face of the modular panel form an extra ripple-filtering layer.
The soldering quality is generally average.
The supervisor IC is a UTC8313.
The cooling fan is a Fly Upwards (!) DF1202512RFLN, utilizing a Rifle bearing, as specified in the found specs.
