Seasonic Vertex PX-1200 ATX v3.0 PSU Review

Box & Bundle

The PSU didn’t come in its retail box but in a plain one, so to avoid leaving this area empty, here is a photo of my cat, Hazelnut, playing with his notebook.

Product Photos

The PSU has an appealing exterior design, and to me, the detail that matters the most is that the fan grille is not restrictive, increasing airflow to the PSU’s internals. On the front side, besides the power switch and the AC receptacle, there is an additional switch for toggling on/off the PSU’s semi-passive fan operation.

The PSU’s modular panel hosts 13 sockets, including a native 12VHPWR.

Cables

Modular Cables
Description Cable Count Connector Count (Total) Gauge In Cable Capacitors
ATX connector 20+4 pin (610mm) 1 1 16-18AWG No
4+4 pin EPS12V (700mm) 2 2 16AWG No
6+2 pin PCIe (750mm) 3 3 16-18AWG No
12+4 pin PCIe (700mm) (600W) 1 1 16-28AWG No
SATA 3.3 (410mm+150mm) 1 2 18AWG No
SATA (500mm+155mm+155mm+155mm) 3 12 18AWG No
4-pin Molex (450mm+120mm+120mm) 1 3 18AWG No

The ATX cable is 610mm long. The EPS cables are 700 mm long, and all PCIe legacy cables are even longer, at 750mm. The high-power PCIe cable measures 700mm in length. The number of peripheral connectors is high, but the distance between the 4-pin Molex connectors is short, at 120mm, while it is sufficient for the SATA connectors, at 150-155mm. Finally, all cables are individually sleeved and dark-painted to be stealthy inside a dark chassis interior.

  1. I was also waiting for this source, but on Aris’s advice I chose the superflower leadex vii 1200 platinum and I am very happy, better price and better performance, you couldn’t ask for more, in this case Seasonic has not released an excellent product like others times
