PCCooler YT850 ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Average Noise

The PSU’s average noise output is low.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 115V

The fan speed profile is not aggressively set. The fan’s passive mode lasts up to 395W at 12V, with the load on the minor rails remaining below 70W. At loads up to 395W, if you apply more than 70W to the minor rails, the fan’s speed increases, raising the noise level to 10-15 dBA, which is not particularly high. For loads above 395W, the fan’s noise exceeds 20 dBA when more than 70-75W is applied to the minor rails. The 30 dBA mark is reached at around 705W, and if you push the minor rails with loads above 95W (while keeping over 705W at 12V), noise exceeds 40 dBA.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 230V

At 230V, the fan speed profile is almost similar to the 115V input one. Strangely enough, the fan’s passive operation period shrinks a bit, but the same goes for the 20-25 dBA operating range.
