PCCooler YT1200 ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Average Noise

The PSU’s average noise output is increased.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 115V

The fan speed profile map looks like a modern abstract art painting. The fan’s passive mode lasts up to 420W at 12V, with the load on the minor rails remaining below 70W. At loads of up to 420W, if you apply more than 70W to the minor rails, the fan’s speed increases, raising the noise level to the 10-15 dBA range, which is not particularly high. For loads higher than 420W, the fan’s noise exceeds 25 dBA if you apply more than 70-75W on the minor rails. The 30 dBA mark is reached at around 680W, and the fan spins at higher speeds from the 680W to 1030W load region, occasionally exceeding 40 dBA, with more than 90W on the minor rails. Lastly, with more than 1030W, you will be treated to over 45 dBA noise.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 230V

At 230V, the fan speed profile is identical to that of the 115V input, with the only significant difference being the break at 200W, where the fan’s noise increases to the 10-15 dBA region.
