MSI MPG A850GS PCIE5 ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Average Noise

The PSU’s average noise output is low, among the lowest in the 850W category. Considering that this platform is not among the most efficient, far from it, this doesn’t make me feel comfortable.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 115V

The semi-passive mode lasts up to about 340W at 12V, with a light to 90W combined load on the minor rails. Up to 630W at 12V, the PSU’s noise is below 15 dBA, and the 20 dBA mark is passed at 710W. In no case does the fan’s noise exceed 30 dBA.

  1. Hey Aris,

Would you go with this or the Asrock PG 850w? CWT has been a reliable OEM but unsure about FSP and Asrock. Thanks!

  2. Aris do you have any info for upcoming Ocypus ATX PSU, did they send you sample for Cybenetics certifications ?
