Average Noise
The PSU’s average noise output is dead low, given its capacity.
Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 115V
The semi-passive mode lasts long, at up to 810W at 12V. In no case does the PSU’s noise exceed 30 dBA but remains below this threshold, which is surprising given the PSU’s high capacity. Despite the efficient platform, which restricts thermal loads. Still, at full load, the thermal load reaches 200 W, a substantial number. This crazy loose fan speed profile has also been noticed by the Cybenetics engineers, who left a comment on this unit’s report.

The 230V fan noise profile is even looser than the one at 115V.

When I saw the fan curve of this PSU from the Cybenetics report, I wasn’t expecting such a poor cooling solution for this PSU! With far better built (and cheaper!) noise-optimized ATX 3.1 PSUs in the market like the Seasonic Prime Noctua TX-1600 or the Cooler Master Silent X Platinum 1300, I really don’t see the point in throwing $699 USD for a PSU that doesn’t even come with fan failure protection.
Such a dissapointing PSU from MSI…
NZXT with price around $369 (it’s around $329 in Indonesia) outclassed MSI MEG A1600T with its price around $700
Really, MSI?
