Average Noise
The PSU’s average noise output is low, dropping below 20 dBA at 230V, where the platform is more efficient.
Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 115V
The fan’s stop feature lasts till around 425W at 12V, and is affected by the load on the minor rails. The higher the load at 5V and 3.3V, the less the fan stop feature lasts. Moreover, I noticed three regions at light and moderate loads where the PSU’s fan has to spin at high speeds, to remove the heat, with its noise suddenly increasing above 25 dBA. This can be annoying for users, and this is the reason I prefer the fan to spin constantly under low speeds at light loads. At around 765W, the fan’s speed exceeds 25 dBA, and the 30 dBA mark is surpassed at close to the PSU’s full load output (>975W).
Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 230V
At 230V, at lower loads, during the fan stop feature, there isn’t a period during which the fan starts spinning at above 25 dBA noise levels. Moreover, there is no >30 dBA noise operation.
