EVGA SuperNOVA 850G FTW ATX v3.0 PSU Review

Box & Bundle

There is a photo of the PSU at the face of the box, with the punched fan grill in clear view. The protection is adequate at the internals, with packing foam surrounding the product.

Product Photos

The punched fan grille could be less restrictive. On the front side, besides the power switch and the AC receptacle, you will also find a smaller switch for toggling on/off the PSU’s semi-passive operation. Around the back, the modular panel hosts twelve sockets, including a 12VHPWR.

Cables

Modular Cables
Description Cable Count Connector Count (Total) Gauge In Cable Capacitors
ATX connector 24-pin (600mm) 1 1 16-18AWG No
4+4 pin EPS12V (700mm) 2 2 16AWG No
6+2 pin PCIe (700mm+150mm) 1 2 16-18AWG No
6+2 pin PCIe (700mm) 2 2 16AWG No
12+4 pin PCIe (700mm) (600W) 1 1 16-24AWG No
SATA (555mm+150mm+150mm) 3 9 18AWG No
4-pin Molex (450mm+120mm+120mm+120mm) 1 4 18AWG No
AC Power Cord (1400mm) – C13 coupler 1 1 14AWG

All others except for the high-power PCIe cable (12VHPWR) are flat. The ATX cable is 600mm long. The EPS cables are 700 mm long, and all PCIe legacy cables measure 700mm up to the first connector, and the second is 150mm further away. The high-power PCIe cable is 700mm long. The number of peripheral connectors is high enough, and the distance between the SATA connectors is adequate. This is not the case for the distance between the 4-pin Molex connectors, which is short at 120mm.
