Efficiency Normal, Light & Super-Light Loads

Efficiency is not that high on all load ranges.

Average Efficiency

The unit barely meets the Cybenetics Platinum requirements, especially at 115V, where it passes, thanks to the 0.05% allowance.

Average PF

The APFC converter performs well!

Average Efficiency 5VSB

The 5VSB rail’s efficiency is satisfactory.

Vampire Power

Vampire power is low at 115V but above 0.1W at 230V.

  1. Is it just me or could the PSU have performed significantly better in ripple suppression and transient response if they hadn’t gone with such an extremely low amount of secondary caps on the secondary side?
    I count 27 caps or which many are fairly small. Other manufacturers like Seasonic are liable to use over 50 caps in that power class.

    Yes the form factor is small but they definitely had space for more caps on the breakout board. They cheaped out, which is a pity.
