Corsair RM750x ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Average Noise

The PSU’s average noise output is low at both voltage inputs.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 115V

The semi-passive operation doesn’t last long if you push the minor rails hard. Corsair also sets the minor rails’ max combined power at 150W, while most modern platforms keep it at 100W. The high combined power on the minor rails is a disadvantage in these tests. At up to 460W at 12V, the PSU’s noise is kept below 20 dBA. The PSU’s noise doesn’t exceed 30 dBA in these tests.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 230V

The 230V fan noise profile differs slightly from the 115V one. The semi-passive mode lasts about the same, and the below 20 dBA operation is up to 505W, at 12V.

  1. Hi, on page 8 “protections” it says 1046w for the OPP, but how is that 123% of 750w ? It would be 123% for a 850W unit, but for a 750W unit 1046W is 139.5%. If the OPP is set at 123%, then shouldn’t that be 922.5W ?

  2. Thank you for the detailed review and your time spent for testing the units.
I just bought this unit on Amazon during BlackFriday deal because of good result in your test.
