Corsair RM750e ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Transient Response

20% Load – 20ms

Advanced Transient Response 20% - 50 Hz - No Caps
Voltage Before After Change Pass/Fail
12V 12.016V 11.832V 1.53% Pass
5V 4.996V 4.864V 2.63% Pass
3.3V 3.300V 3.075V 6.81% Fail
5VSB 4.967V 4.913V 1.09% Pass

50% Load -20ms

Advanced Transient Response 50% - 50 Hz - No Caps
Voltage Before After Change Pass/Fail
12V 11.988V 11.854V 1.12% Pass
5V 4.988V 4.858V 2.60% Pass
3.3V 3.293V 3.061V 7.04% Fail
5VSB 4.942V 4.869V 1.48% Pass

The transient response is average at 12V and mediocre on the minor rails, especially at 3.3V, where the voltage level dropped below the limit, without any extra capacitance helping it out.

Transient Response ATX v3.1 Tests

The PSU passes all ATX v3.1 transient response tests, but the 3.3V rail drops low in the 200% load test.

The 12V rail’s transient performance is average compared to similar spec PSUs.
