Corsair HX1200i Shift ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Average Noise

The PSU’s average noise output is dead low at the default settings. You can adjust the fan speed profile to your liking if you connect the PSU to your system through the iCUE application.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 115V

The fan’s passive operation lasts for very short periods because of how we apply the loads: first increasing the combined load on the minor rails, then increasing the load on the 12V rail. Nevertheless, the fan’s noise remains below 10 dBA at up to 700W at 12V and with a full load on the minor rails. The 25 dBA mark is reached at 975W, and the fan’s noise never exceeds 30 dBA. Overall, the fan speed profile is relaxed.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 230V

At 230V, the fan speed profile is identical to that at 115V, with the main difference being fewer periods of the fan’s passive operation, which don’t affect the average noise output, since the fan’s speed is so low that noise remains below 10 dBA.
