Cooler Master V1600 Platinum V2 ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Efficiency Normal, Light & Super-Light Loads

Efficiency is high enough at normal loads, primarily at 230V. This is not the case, though, at light and super-light loads. Only at 230V does the PSU achieve over 70% with a 2% load, as the ATX spec recommends.

Average Efficiency

The average efficiency meets the Cybenetics Platinum criteria. Moreover, the difference between 115V and 230V input is substantial.

Average PF

Given the good results in the normal load tests, I expected higher PF readings. However, these only consist of a handful of measurements, while the results of the charts above derive from over 1450 different load combinations.

Average Efficiency 5VSB

The 5VSB rail’s efficiency is not high enough.

Vampire Power

Vampire power is low at 115V, but it increases at 230V.
