be quiet! Power Zone 2 750W ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Box & Bundle

The PSU comes in a box with only the basic graphics on its face: a photo of the PSU, efficiency badges, the brand’s name, and the model number. More information is provided on the back side of the package.

The punched fan grille makes the PSU stand out from the other be quiet! PSUs I have reviewed so far. It is not too restrictive to allow for good airflow, so the fan can operate at lower speeds and still provide decent airflow. At the front side, the exhaust grille doesn’t extend up to the PSU’s top side, which is typically the case.

The modular panel consists of nine sockets, one of which is a 12V-2×6 type set for 600W max power output. This is weird given that this is a 750W PSU.

Cables

Modular Cables
Description Cable Count Connector Count (Total) Gauge In Cable Capacitors
ATX connector 20+4 pin (590mm) 1 1 16-22AWG No
4+4 pin EPS12V (700mm) 1 1 16AWG No
8 pin EPS12V (700mm) 1 1 16AWG No
2x 6+2 pin PCIe (600mm) 1 2 16-18AWG No
6+2 pin PCIe (600mm) 1 1 16AWG No
12+4 pin PCIe (600mm) (600W) 1 1 16-26AWG No
SATA (550mm+150mm+150mm+155mm) 1 4 18AWG No
SATA (500mm+150mm+150) / 4-pin Molex (+150mm) 1 3/1 18AWG No
AC Power Cord (1350mm) – C13 coupler 1 1 18AWG

The 750W model has the same cable configuration as the 850W and 1000W models. The ATX and PCIe cables are long enough, while the EPS cables are longer at 700mm, so there won’t likely be any compatibility issues in a large chassis. The number of EPS and PCIe connectors is enough, and there is also a 12VHPWR connector available, set at 600W. There are plenty of SATA connectors, but only a single 4-pin Molex. Most devices don’t use 4-pin Molex, so this won’t likely be an issue. Lastly, the distance between the peripheral connectors is adequate.

  1. Good day Aris,
Sorry to bother you, but I need some help choosing a PSU. After reviewing all the information on your website, I am still unsure which one to go for—the RM750x or the Power Zone 2 750W from Be Quiet!. My main concern is the PSU mounting in my PC case, which is side-mounted at the top corner. With the RM750x, the power cord connector placement means that if I face the fan inside the case, it could affect airflow. If I face the fan outside, the power cord would have to bend awkwardly.
On the other hand, the Power Zone 2 seems like it would fit better with the fan facing outside, avoiding the bent cable issue. Given these constraints, what would you suggest in this situation?

Thank you for your time and help.

  2. Aris Did all internal power supply components required for tearing down for a documentation or just some sample you did it for a tearing down, because some cybenetics doesn’t have internal info like a Bulk caps, MOSFET, IC, switcher, etc

    1. If you ask whether all Cyben reports have part analysis, unfortunately, not for older samples. But for newer ones we try to have them on all.
