Asus Rog Strix 1000W Platinum PSU Review

Average Noise

The PSU’s average noise output is low, but this graph doesn’t depict the whole truth, so I had to run a frequency analysis in this unit.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 115V

The fan-stop feature is active at up to around 560W, so the PSU’s output noise is minimal. Between 560W and 630W, noise is within 6-10 dBA, and from 705W to 825W, noise is within 15-20 dBA. The noisiest operation looks like a rocket in the fan noise map, and it is from 885-920W, with the output noise between 25-30 dBA. In no case did the PSU’s noise exceed the 30 dBA mark.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 230V

The fan-stop feature is active up to around 570W. Between 565W and 650W, noise is within 6-10 dBA, and from 730W to 855W, noise is within 15-20 dBA. With more than 855W loads, noise is in the 20-25 dBA range.

  1. https://www.einarexglobal.com/psu/
aris did u tested some einarex psu, because i’ve seen one of them certified by cybenetics gold, i was wonder about the internals of these psu because my fellow worries about it because it’s not listed at the cybenetics websites, would you review it on hwbusters too ?

  2. I have an insider tip that the Rog Thor III 1200W Platinum is also based on the Enchance (a more advanced platform), so you shouldn’t expect much better performance (+ they replaced the fancy fabric-braided cables with mediocre PVC-braided ones, exactly the same as this one Strix).
In general, we can say that Thor III Platinum has achieved the status of a premium power supply.

Thor III Platinum has lost the status of a premium power supply)

  3. Sad that the GaN mosfets was just a marketing gimmick here. Now I wonder if you can check if this is also the case with the ROG Thor 1200W Platinum III which is, supposedly a more premium plat PSU or if there is no point in it compared to the Strix plat in performance. But also the ROG THOR 1600W Titanium III when compared to the previous Thor Titanium.
