IKEA Made Its CES Debut

IKEA appeared at CES for the first time in 2026, presenting a lineup of budget-friendly, Matter-compatible smart home products, emphasizing simplicity and accessibility over flashy AI features.

Key Product Highlights

  • Varmblixt Smart LED Lamp: An updated version of IKEA’s popular donut-shaped lamp. It offers 12 preset colors (expandable to 40+ via the Dirigera hub), Matter support, and smooth color transitions. It can be controlled via a new Bilresa remote or smart home apps.
  • Kajplats Smart Bulb Expansion: A new $6 smart bulb that supports Matter-over-Thread and works with Apple Home, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings.
  • Kallsup Bluetooth Speaker: A compact, $10 speaker launching in April 2026. It comes in three colors, supports Bluetooth 5.3, offers 20-hour battery life, and up to 100 speakers can be linked together.
  • Premium Audio: Teklan Kulglass Collection: Includes the portable Solskydd Bluetooth speaker and the mushroom-shaped Kulglass speaker-lamp with Spotify Tap. This line is a collaboration with internet personality Tekla Evelina Severin.
  • Smart Sensors & Controls:
    • Klippbok Water Leak Sensor (alerts via sound and phone notifications)
    • Alpstuga Air Quality Sensor (monitors CO₂, particles, temperature, humidity)
    • New smart plug with energy usage tracking
    • Bilresa remote with magnetic mount for controlling smart lights

Pricing & Availability

The new lineup includes 21 Matter-compatible devices, with prices starting at $6 for a smart bulb and $8 for a smart plug. Most products are expected to arrive in IKEA stores and online in January 2026, with the Kallsup speaker following in April.
