Elgato has launched its most extensive Stream Deck yet, the Stream Deck Studio, tailored for professional broadcast setups. Featuring over twice the number of customizable LCD keys compared to previous models, it’s designed to handle the more complex workflows found in broadcast environments.
Priced at $899.99 and available starting today, the Stream Deck Studio is a result of Elgato’s collaboration with Bitfocus, known for its Companion software. Companion allows users to connect multiple controllers and manage them remotely through a web browser. This feature has extended the Stream Deck’s utility beyond content creators to industries like broadcasting and aviation.
Key Features:
- 32 LCD Keys: The new layout, arranged in two rows, makes managing hardware, software, and media feeds more efficient for professional environments.
- Rotary Dials and Rack Mounting: At 19 inches long, the Stream Deck Studio is designed for mounting in a universal studio rack alongside other professional equipment.
- Enhanced Connectivity: The Stream Deck Studio offers streamlined, versatile setup options. It has three USB-C ports—one for data connection to a PC, one for powering additional devices, and one for power through an ethernet PoE connector.
Software and Functionality:
- Bitfocus’ Companion software powers the Stream Deck Studio but can also be used with Elgato’s new Buttons software. Buttons add advanced features, including instant visual feedback on the keys and built-in RFID and NFC readers for user authentication.
- Bitfocus offers Companion for free, while Buttons are subscription-based software. Pricing tiers range from $9 to $99 per month, depending on the level of use.
Multiple Stream Deck Studio controllers can be linked and managed as a single unit for larger setups. Stream Deck models, like the Stream Deck XL, can also be connected for expanded functionality.
