The ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition is the fifth collaboration between ASUS and Noctua, following the success of previous models like the RTX 3070, 3080, and 4080 Noctua Editions. This latest iteration introduces a significant change: it features a triple-fan setup, unlike its predecessors, which had dual-fan configurations.
At the heart of this GPU are three Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 120mm fans, known for their exceptional airflow and ultra-quiet performance. These fans are paired with a custom-engineered heatsink that combines an extensive vapor chamber with seven 8mm and four 6mm heatpipes, ensuring efficient heat dissipation.
One of the standout features of this card is the 0dB idle technology, which stops the fans when the GPU temperature is below 50°C. Once the temperature exceeds 55°C, the fans automatically resume to maintain optimal cooling performance. This intelligent fan behavior ensures a quiet computing experience during low-load scenarios.
The RTX 5080 Noctua Edition also offers a Dual BIOS switch, allowing users to toggle between “Quiet” and “Performance” modes. The “Quiet” mode prioritizes silent operation, while the “Performance” mode enhances cooling and performance for demanding tasks.
Built on NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture, the card boasts 10,752 CUDA cores, 16 GB of GDDR7 memory at 30 Gbps, and delivers 1,858 AI TOPS, ensuring top-tier performance for gaming and professional applications.
With dimensions of 385 × 151 × 80 mm and a weight of approximately 2.7 kg, this GPU requires ample space within your PC case. ASUS recommends a minimum of 850W PSU, preferably from their own lineup, to ensure stable power delivery.
Under load, the RTX 5080 Noctua Edition maintains a noise level of approximately 29–30 dBA, making it one of the quieter high-performance GPUs available.

This premium pricing reflects the advanced cooling technology and ultra-quiet performance that the Noctua Edition offers.
I’m not a fan of semi passive solutions, that causes unnecessary heat buildup
It’s much better to keep the fan speed constantly at the highest acceptable level, for A12x25 that was around 670RPM, for G2 I still have to find out
