ADATA And MSI Unveil 128GB DDR5 CUDIMM For Next-Gen Intel Desktops

ADATA has introduced what it calls the world’s first high-capacity DDR5 4-Rank CUDIMM memory module, developed in collaboration with MSI. Each module offers 128GB of capacity and has been validated for stable operation on upcoming Intel Z890 desktop platforms.

Unlike conventional 2-rank DIMMs, this new 4-rank design doubles the memory capacity per module while maintaining the high-speed, low-latency characteristics of ADATA’s CUDIMM technology. It is aimed at systems that need both bandwidth and large memory pools for demanding workloads.

ADATA says the DDR5 5600 4-Rank CUDIMM has completed burn-in and stability testing on MSI’s in-development Z890 motherboards at 5600 MT/s. In a 2-DIMM configuration, users can equip a standard desktop system with up to 256GB of memory, opening the door to workstation-class capacities on a consumer platform.

The company is positioning the new modules for high-end gaming PCs, content creation rigs, AI development systems, and engineering workloads. Use cases include offline AI inference and model fine-tuning, large-scale video and image editing, and local data analysis, where additional memory capacity can reduce bottlenecks and improve responsiveness.

With this launch, ADATA and MSI are preparing the ecosystem for the next generation of Intel-based desktops that combine higher memory density with mainstream platform compatibility.
