TerraMaster F4-425 Plus NAS Review

Box & Bundle

Starting with the unboxing, the NAS comes in a classic TerraMaster-branded box with minimal detail. Inside, the NAS is wrapped in a white plastic bag and protected by two large foam pieces, one on each side. On one side of the box, you’ll find the bundled accessories.

Opening it reveals two smaller boxes inside (I promise those are the last ones). Beneath the boxes are three information leaflets and stickers for labeling different HDDs. Unlike the F4-SSD, the F4-425 Plus does not include a screwdriver.

Inside the accessory box, you’ll find:

  • AC Power Adapter
  • C7 Power Cord
  • 1x Cat 6 Ethernet Cable
  • 2x Replacement Rubber Feet
  • 16x HDD/SSD Screws
  • 10x Hard Drive Labels
  • Quick Installation Guide
  • Compensation Promises Leaflet
  • Limited Warranty

This is the first TerraMaster NAS we have reviewed to use an AC power adapter above 48W, with this one being a 90W adapter, hinting at the potential of the CPU on the Plus model. TerraMaster once again opted for an external power supply, which is easy to replace and more cost-effective. The included drive labels are a thoughtful touch, helping you organize your drives if you frequently swap them. Just remember not to cover the breather hole. Finally, there are three paper leaflets: a Quick Installation Guide, a Limited Warranty, and a uniquely named “Compensation Promises” leaflet. Drive installation is toolless for 3.5-inch drives, so TerraMaster doesn’t include a screwdriver in the box. Still, you get a bag of screws, useful if you’re installing 2.5-inch drives.
