It is recommended not to use the “default” OS but the OnionOS, which is way better. You will have to discover games on your own or visit the official website. Downloading the custom OS will be a pain if you do not bother reading any instructions, especially if you are a novice. You’d better get one console with the TF card, which includes games, to avoid the hassle. As we read on the net, if you get a version with a TF card, you should change it to something better as soon as possible because the bundled one is slow and unreliable.
If your TF card has a large capacity, you may download as many games as you want, which can offer extended gameplay according to the console’s specs. You may also connect online and play with friends if your friends have the same games or consoles. The interface is easy to browse, and I liked the feel of the clicky buttons, which have a nice tactile feeling and responsiveness. Aliexpress has most of the questions a potential user might have answered on the product’s page.
There was minimum to no lag while gaming. A joystick version would be a fine addition to PSP games and a new model with better hardware for PS2 games. There is a search tool to assist you in finding a game. If a game you wish to play is not included, you can download it yourself. While playing a game, a menu appears if you push the menu button.
The Miyoo Mini+ automatically saves your gameplay so that you can continue gaming from where you left off, but you can also save the game manually and use it as a cheat, which is called savescamming. You can add some of your favorite games to the favorite folder (my favorite is After Burner Complete for the Sega 32x).
You may adjust details from the settings such as color, brightness, saturation hue, theme, language, remap the keys, etc. Furthermore, a hardware test gives you an idea of what’s happening with your device, e.g., when you remap the keys. If the essential sounds or the music is a nuisance, you can mute either of them.
The plastic quality is good, but the battery cover is hard to close. The display is adequate, but the screen reflects light sources, so it’s better not to play under a ceiling light or the sun. You can adjust the screen colors from the settings, which makes it different from many other handheld mini-emulation consoles available on the market.
The screen’s colors don’t look very nice, but the viewing angles are satisfactory since it uses an IPS panel. Users said the previous model might have had a smaller screen but offered better image quality.
