This article was written for entertainment purposes and is not intended to insult anyone. I just thought it would be nice to combine two of my favorite activities: anime and technology, in an article set in an imaginary apocalyptic scenario. Even the title is inspired by Alice in Borderland. Enjoy responsibly (as the most of our Freestyle articles)!
In 2030, an AI military system known as BoArderland has taken over and sees humanity as a threat. Nothing seems to be able to stop the Apocalypse, but one little detail: BoArderland is an anime fan! Humanity’s last stand was to send venerable techies as anime characters to bring down the threat once and for all. Would these tech heroes be the answer to humanity’s prayers? Well, only the future could tell.
The Heroes
crmaris as Goku
Aris was sent as Goku in BoArderland. His core power is KamehameCaps. But is that enough to deal with AI’s fury and overwhelming power?
Special Abilities: Proper Equipment.
Drawbacks: 80Plus. We hope that BoArderland won’t state that 80Plus is the Golden Standard because that will fuel Aris Greek enranged mode, which we don’t know if will be for the best or the worst, as it is unpredictable. Things might get shifty.
Eri of HWBusters as Frieren
Eri was sent as Frieren. A powerful witch whose power springs from her love for Aris and Gregory. But is love the answer?
Special Abilities: Tech Love Spell. A powerful spell that springs from her love for her husband and son.
Drawbacks: Shopping. We hope that BoArderland won’t play the “Shopping tips” card. You never ask a girl for shopping advice because time and money are limited. Things might be challenging.
Steve of Gamers Nexus as Eren Yeager
Steve was sent as Eren. His core ability is to use the powerful Titan Mode against other tech-scammy Titans. But can he defeat all the Titans?
Special Abilities: Thanx, Steve.
Drawbacks: James Hetfield. We hope BoArderland won’t take him as James Hetfield in his early years. This would have been inconvenient.
jonnyGURU as Rin Okumura (Blue Exorcist)
Jonny will join the fight as Rin. His core power is the Blue Double Forward Topology Design Strike. A powerful strike that even BoArderland might be unable to deal with. Or not?
Special Abilities: PSU Guru.
Drawbacks: Reddit. We hope that BoArderland won’t show him petty Reddit comments and threads because even the greatest can’t handle this.
Ian of TechTechPotato as Sirius Yuliy
Ian was sent as Yuliy from the Sirius the Yaeger series. His main power is the WereWolf Potato Mode, which can frustrate his opponents. But is frustration enough to put BoArderland to shame?
Special Abilities: Potato Mode.
Drawbacks: Anandtech articles. Nostalgia hits bad, unfortunately.
der8auer as Roronoa Zoro
Roman was sent as Zoro, a prodigal swordsman with such a strong Haki that even Luffy couldn’t resist. But is Haki the answer?
Special Abilities: Haki Grizzly.
Drawbacks: Jimmy Neutron. Unfortunately, his likeness to the popular cartoon hero might cause more problems than it should.
Linus Sebastian as Saitama
Linus was sent as the One Punch Man hero, Saitama. His favorite ability is The Sponsor Punch, which has such influential destructive power that even AIs won’t stand a chance. Marketing is pure power, BoArderland. Are you ready?
Special Abilities: Segue to our Sponsor.
Drawbacks: Segue to our Sponsor. Because it depends on the sponsor.
JayzTwoCents as Momonga (Overlord)
Jason was sent as Momonga to fight against BoArderland. His special move is the Merch Spell. But merch is merch and might be inadequate against BoArderland.
Special Abilities: Gamers Nexus Alliance.
Drawbacks: Oversimplified terms. Sometimes, he might oversimplify the terms, and BoArderland might treat it as a weakness.
Wendell of Level1Techs as Ash Ketchum
Wendell has joined the leagues as Satoshi. With his Pokéball, he can catch almost everything he wants. Gotta catch ’em all?
Special Abilities: Techatsu.
Drawbacks: His passion for IT. IT can “corrupt” even the strongest.
Steve of Hardware Unboxed as Uzumaki Naruto
Steve is part of the league as Naruto. As a tech Ninza might defeat BoArderland with his Incognito Mode. But that is just a possibility, nothing more.
Special Abilities: TV and monitor testing.
Drawbacks: Kangaroos. Sorry, this joke never gets old. My sincere apologies.
Elon Musk as Denji (Chainsaw Man)
Elon was sent as Denji. His main power is his demonic form, which can destroy almost everything. BoArderland, are you ready?
Special Abilities: Tesla Chainsaw Massacre.
Drawbacks: X ex-Twitter. He seems to have been through a lot lately. Twitter, sorry, X, might be part of the problem.
Mark Zuckerberg as Monkey D. Luffy
Mark, as Luffy, will try to bring down the AI threat. His core power, “Reels,” can destroy his enemies by ad-spamming. Feel the power of ads, the AI piece of it.
Special Abilities: Everything he is programmed to.
Drawbacks: Everything he is not programmed to. While he can be a strong opponent, he must be programmed to handle the battles. May God help us all.
Bill Gates as Muzan Kibutsuji
Bill, as Muzan, might be the only answer to defeat evil with evil. Don’t worry, I don’t mean that Gates is evil. He chose an evil character to fight the fire with fire. As a Tech prodigal, Demon can control every tech devil. But can he control the evil BoArderland?
Special Abilities: Windows XP Service Pack 5.
Drawbacks: Windows Millennium. Even this name’s mention might cause………. Error 512. Service not found.
Linus Torvalds as L Lawliet
Linus, with his pure programming skills, will join the team as L (Death Note). With overwhelming UNIX-NOT-UNIX skills, he is one of the strongest cards in the league. F U, BoArderland.
Special Abilities: The Linux Community.
Drawbacks: Windows OS. Even BoArderland can’t defeat Microsoft’s strategies without a hassle.
Epilogue (For Now)
The battle has just begun. The heroes will fight for humanity’s sake and future. Who will win? Hasta la vista, baby!
