Hi, I have a few questions. Currently, I have an Asus Rog Strix 1000W (ROG-STRIX-1000G) in my build, and Asus sent me an original 16-pin connector. The power supply is still being sold as ATX 3.0 ready. I am considering the RTX 5080 or RTX 5090. The power supply should be based on the Focus Gold platform, which had issues with current spikes in the RTX 30 series.
For clarity, I will number the questions.

I had an RX 6900XT/7900XTX on this power supply and did not notice any problem with OCP protection, even though the 6900XT suffers from higher current spikes than the RTX30. Did this power supply have this problem?

How does this power supply perform nowadays? Is it worth considering an upgrade to a newer ATX specification? Based on the overall performance table, I selected something like the XPG Core Reactor II, Toughpower GF3.

I have the opportunity to buy the MSI MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 power supply for a great price, which according to many reviews is a super quality power supply, almost all talk about it as a top power supply, including SPL's PSU Tier List. However, it has the lowest rating in the overall performance table. How is this possible? Faulty piece? Is it a bad power supply? Does it make sense to change my original ATX2.X power supply for this MSI one?
Thank you very much for your answers.
to keep this short, I would buy the MSI MEG Ai1300P PCIE5
Thank you for the response. But I apologize, I have a few more questions to answer.
Can the MSI MEG Ai compete with the CTW CZS platform (Core Reactor/Thermaltake GF3)? It totally fell to the last place in the performance table. Does such an exchange for the Rog Strix make sense at all?
@tarkin94 My sample wasn't among the good ones, probably the worst possible. It will be able to compete, yes. It will only make sense if you need 300W more.
@crmaris So you think the improved Focus Gold platform in my Strix Gold with the older ATX format is actually still ok?
Yeah, I don't see a reason for it being unable to support your system.
