Good morning everyone I have been having an issue that's been driving me crazy for about two years now and I'm at my wits end and need help desperately.

So my build for my gaming computer is as follows...

10900K, RTX 3080, 32GB RAM, Thermaltake toughpower irgbplus 1050w PSU.

For years I've been looking for a UPS that can save my computer from a power outage. Unfortunately every UPS that I've tried has failed the computer quickly shuts down after a blackout. Ever UPS that I've tried has always been 1500VA or 900W and has produced pure sine wave output with a holdup time of either 4ms or 6 to 10ms. I have tried from APC CyberPower and the Tripplite gaming UPS but to no avail. After more research I found that it could be the hold up time on my PSU. I looked up the spec sheet and it says that under 100% load the PSU has 16ms hold time. So you would think that any regular line interactive pure sine wave UPS would be able to power this PSU because the transfer times are less than 16ms. My brain is just scrambled at this point and im not sure if I should just purchase a new PSU and rewire my whole rig to that new PSU. Please help me. If there is any bits of information that I'm missing please let me know. I just want my UPS to save my computer because my power grid here is absolutely horrendous. Thank you so much for your help!

Normally, a 1500VA UPS would be more than enough for your system. Since the PSU doesn't operate at full load in your system, I doubt it is the PSU's hold-up time that is the problem. Unless the PSU's bulk caps are broken so their capacity is dead low. I would try with an APC UPS, next.

What makes an APC UPS different from cyberpower or tripplite? Also which APC unit in particular would you recommend? I have tried APC before but with the same result.
