Hi,

I want to start to thank HB for all the good info you guys provide for the community, keep it up!

I was lucky enough to get hold of a 5090 FE from Nvidia (in Sweden) and it's been sitting there waiting for the new parts to arrive like the 9950x3d.

My question is related to what PSU would be safe enough to use. I have red up on the whole 3.0 vs 3.1 ATX debacle and how the change is only on the pin header on the GPU/PSU side and cables being the same.

I would only like to get a Seasonic PSU. My preferred choice would be the Seasonic TX 1600 3.1 ATX Noctua edition or the regular TX 1600 ATX 3.1. The problem is that both of these are virtually non existent and out of stock everywhere. The date gets pushed back month after month and I have given hope of getting one in the near future.

I have managed to get the (older?) TX 1600 3.0 ATX from Amazon. This version seems to have the original pin headers on the PSU side. I plan to use it with the Seasonic Native 12V-2×6 Cable with blue color on connectors: removed link

Would this be safe enough provided that both cables are connected correctly? I'm really tired of having to find the new ATX 3.1 version and just want to be done with the build. Thanks!

Hi! There is no need for ATX v3.1 PSU. A v3.0 will be fine.

Thank you for your answer. I will just keep the PRIME 1600 3.0 PSU then!
