Hello to all,

This is my first post in the forum and I would like to bring up a "pain" issue as electric bills are on the rise.

I am the owner of an APC-SUA1500 UPS and while trying to find out why I was getting unexplainable high power bills I measured it's consumption while idle with nothing loaded on it.

The power draw seems to be around 45-50 W 24/7 with newly replaced batteries fully charged !!!!

I am thinking of ditching it for something more power-efficient but cannot seem to find enough info in this area. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Many UPS are drawing power even if they are inactivated, but plugged in AC. Unfortunately we don't have enough info on which UPS have less consumption, but I think that 45w that yours consume are high.

yes, it is pretty high. That’s why I’m looking to replace it. it would be nice if other friends would also post their models and idle consumption so we build some kind of unofficial reference table.

I believe nowadays this is a critical parameter to consider when buying a new one.
