AMD Ryzen 9 9950x CPU Review: Performance, Thermals & Power Analysis

Rendering

In Blender, I use the BMW 27 scene. The Corona Renderer might be old, but it still provides valuable insights into the CPU’s rendering capabilities.

Davinci Resolve is one of the best video editing apps, even in its free version. I use it to extract a 4K video without utilizing the GPU’s capabilities.

The CPU’s rendering performance is strong!

Media Encoding

I converted a 4K video to HD format with 30 frames per second using Handbrake and three different compression algorithms.

Strong media encoding performance, but the 7950X3D keeps its lead.

Puget Benchmarks

Puget is a PC-building company specializing in video editing systems. Puget has created several benchmark tests for popular video and photo editing applications to evaluate its systems. It has also been kind enough to provide free (and paid) versions of its products to the rest of the world.

It is at the top place here, but with a small lead over the 7950X3D.
