Overall & Gaming Performance
The overall performance is high enough, but still, the 7950X3D has a notable lead. Please note that this graph includes gaming performance and AIDA 64 score, where the new 9000 series seems to have compatibility issues.
With gaming not included, the 7950X3D still has a notable lead. I should note here, though, that the CPU’s performance is very low in the AIDA AES benchmark for some reason, affecting the overall performance score notably. This is why I include the following graph, too.
Because the CPU’s performance in AIDA’s AES is low, I included overall performance scores with both gaming and AIDA 64 benchmarks excluded. In this chart, the 9950x performs similarly to the 7950X3D, which is notably more affordable, though, since its price dropped to $525 from $699 (this was the case, at least at the time of the review).
The 7800X3D remains the top choice for gaming, followed by the 7950X3D. The 9950x isn’t the ideal gaming CPU, clearly.
The CPU’s price is high, affecting its price-per-performance ratio.
Is the Noctua NH-D15 G2, with good ventilation, enough for the full potential of the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X?
