Power Consumption
I use the Powenetics system to measure power consumption in every significant part of the mainboard, with up to 1000 readings per second.
Peak Power Consumption
I obtained the peak power consumption readings shown in the graph above during the start of the Prime95 benchmark.
The power spikes are about the same, with the CPU at stock and in overclocked mode.
Energy Usage
With lower voltage on the cores, thanks to the curve optimizer’s settings, even under overclocking the CPU is more efficient. In general, the 7950X3D is highly efficient with multiple threads and registers good performance if you optimally set the curve optimizer.
