Rendering – Blender
I use the BMW 27 scene in Blender.
The 9800X3D is not that fast compared to CPUs with more cores, but the improvement is vast compared to the 7800X3D.
Rendering – Cinebench R23
Given the number of cores, Cinebench performance is good, with a notable lead from the 7800X3D.
Rendering – Cinebench 2024
In Cinebench 2024, the 9800X3D notably outperforms the 7800X3D.
Media Encoding
I converted a 4K video to HD format with 30 frames per second using Handbrake and three different compression algorithms.
The 9800X3D once more has a notable performance lead from the 7800X3D.
Puget Benchmarks

Top performance in Photoshop, where it seems a large amount of cores isn’t essential; however, this is not the case for Premiere, where the number of CPU cores makes a difference.
