Max Operating Temperature (Blender)
To check the operating temperatures, I run Blender instead of Prime95 and small FFTs, which apply an unrealistically high load to the CPU.
The max operating temperature in Blender is not that high for an AMD processor, at 84C. Still, I should note that I used a high-end Noctua air cooler in my test system, probably the highest-performance air cooling solution available today.

Despite the vast difference in average power consumption, the 9800X3D has similar operating temperatures to the 7800X3D because of the better design. The extra L3 cache is below the CCD and not above it, so it doesn’t prevent its direct contact with the heatspreader.
