AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Revisit: The Best Gaming CPU

Epilogue

Let’s face it: AMD promised a lot for the Ryzen 9000, but in the end, it had to release a PR explaining why reviewers had different results from the ones AMD’s engineers provided. This doesn’t look good, in any case, and the promised performance increase wasn’t depicted in our testing results. To make matters worse, the price tags of the 9000 series processors are high, mainly the ones of the high-end models, providing an edge to the 7000X3D series processors. So, as long as there is stock of the 7000X3D products and before AMD increases their prices to prevent internal competition with the 9000 line, I suggest you grab one if you want to upgrade or build a new system.

The 7800X3D is a high-performance CPU, especially in gaming. If its eight cores are enough for your everyday needs, it won’t have a problem meeting your demands for the upcoming years. Moreover, its power consumption is low, so it doesn’t need a super strong and expensive cooling solution to handle it. Note, though, that the better the CPU’s cooling, the higher its boost clocks will be. If you need more cores and threads to persist on high gaming performance and also want as low as possible power consumption, another great alternative is the Ryzen 9 7950X3D. There is also the Ryzen 9 7900X3D. Now, if you desperately want one of the new generation Ryzen CPUs, the one with the highest performance per price is the 9600x in both applications and gaming.
