FSP MP7 ARGB Review. Budget Price & High Performance!

Box, Contents, Bundle

The box has a photo of the cooler at its face, with the RGB fans in action. Around the back, you will find more details about the cooler’s specs.

The bundle includes the following:

  • Blue plastic spacers for LGA 1200
  • Purple plastic spacers for LGA 1700
  • Red plastic spacers for AMD
  • Intel backplate
  • AMD bracket
  • Multi-platform bracket
  • Screws for Intel (silver)
  • Screws for AMD (black)
  • Thermal paste tube
  • Screwdriver(s)

The cooler follows a dual-tower design, which is the most effective for air coolers. However, its major con is that it increases its footprint, so there might be compatibility issues with some chassis and mainboards. The fins are not that dense, so there is no need for high-static pressure fans but primarily for high airflow ones. For your information, the fans that the cooler is equipped with achieve Gold airflow and Bronze static pressure in the Cybenetics Phi fan performance standard.

The cooler’s base is large enough to cover the heatspreader of the normal processors, but it cannot meet the demands of server CPUs with huge heatspreaders. Moreover, make sure to peel off the plastic label before you install the cooler. Otherwise, you will put the CPU’s overtemperature protections to the test.

A photo of the cooler from its top side showing the top shroud and the wholes through which you can tighten the base’s screws, using the provided screwdriver, without having to remove the center fan. This is highly convenient!

The fans use a fluid dynamic bearing to last for an extended period under normal operating conditions. Their performance report by Cybenetics is in the link below.
