FSP AE36 AIO Review – Bargain Price & ARGB

Epilogue

The FSP AE36 AIO is available at a bargain price in the European market, and its MSRP is also low in the US market, where, at the time of the review, I couldn’t find this product. Compared to the top-performing Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360, which has a similar price in the US market, the performance difference on my Intel system was notable and chaotic in the AMD system. The only asset that the AE36 has to offer over the Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 is the ARGB lighting, which is also available in the more expensive model, costing $94 (while the non-ARGB goes for $85).

The cooler comes pre-assembled with the fans on the radiator daisy-chained together, relieving users of a significant installation step. If you plan to use it on an AMD platform, you won’t be thrilled by its performance, as you can see in the chart above. That said, given that you can find the AE36 as low as 65 euros in the EU market, it is a bargain, as this amount typically gets you a good, affordable air-cooler, rather than an RGB-lit 360mm AIO. If you are after a quiet AIO, you should think twice before buying it, as its lowest noise output, with fans spinning at 40%, is 27.8 dBA. This AIO is one of the few that cannot achieve 20 dBA normalized noise output. The reason is that its fans operate at a minimum speed of 1088 RPM. When three of these fans work together to push air through the AIO’s radiator, the noise output increases. In general, I would like to see higher quality and a wider RPM range of fans on this AIO.

If you want top performance, Arctic’s AIO offerings are among the top choices, without breaking the bank.

I have tested many AIOs recently, but didn’t have time to post their reviews. If you want to check the most recent coolers that Cybenetics tests (I get all results from the Cybenetics labs), check the following link:

If you’re searching for fans for your AIO or chassis, read my ‘Best Cooling Fans’ article before investing in new cooling solutions. You help me a lot by using my affiliate links, which don’t increase the price of the product. I receive a commission from Amazon every time you do it, which can make a significant difference for me, especially now that I am working independently, exclusively for my media, rather than for someone else.
