Epilogue
The Arctic Liquid Freezer III 420 A-RGB was already a superb cooler, which now received a notable performance boost on Intel’s new top processor with the offset contact frame. Since I hate writing extended epilogues, here are the key conclusions:
- The new offset contact frame works amazingly well on the Core Ultra 9 285K at both operating temperatures and clock frequencies
- I don’t know if it works the same on the other Arrow Lake models. I don’t have them and will not buy them to find out!
- I have no clue whether Arctic will offer it for free to the existing buyers of the Liquid Freezer III models. [Update 12/30/2024: It will cost around $5)
- Waiting now for the rest of the cooling brands to offer offset mounting for Intel LGA1851

You help me a lot by using my affiliate links, which don’t increase the product’s price. I get a commission from Amazon every time you do it, which can make a difference for me, especially now that I am on my own, working exclusively for my media and not for someone else.

Wow, 5°C and over 100MHz, that’s quite an improvement…hats off 😉
yeap this was one of the best mods I seen in the recent years 🙂
the father of the idea of offset mounting is Noctua, but their processes take a long time, so I’m curious if and when they will come up with it for LGA 1851…
I guess that other Asian competitors will overtake them now
and they are super expensive too! Arctic will offer this new contract frame for just 5 dollars!
