Cooler Master Hyper 612 APEX CPU Cooler Review

Overall Performance (AMD)

To calculate each cooler’s overall performance, I take into account three factors: the CPU’s temperature, wattage, and frequency, by using the following equation:

(Wattage / Temperature) x Frequency

Each chart shows the cooler under test as 100% and every other product’s performance as relative to it.

It is impressive to see a single-tower cooler costing 65 dollars being so close to the super-expensive Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC. The Thermaltake Peerless Assassin 140 is also nearly as performant as the G2, but it is a mega-cooler, also significantly larger than the Hyper 612 Apex.

Performance Per Price (AMD)

Even a $10 difference can create high differences in these charts, because most air coolers have prices ranging from $55 to $100.

  1. Hey all,

Just a note on the ‘no ARGB option’ in the ‘cons’ section. The cooler uses Cooler Master Mobius 120P (note the P) fans. These fans actually have an ARGB variant, see coolermaster.com/en-global/products/mobius-120p-argb/

I recently bought one, and easily swapped out the front-facing fan with an ARGB one, using non-ARGB one on the exhaust. You just need to carefully take off the grey face panel. They are really good fans.
