For Intel systems a backplate is provided, supporting all sockets, old and new. You must remove the standard brackets for AMD sockets and use the provided mounting hardware, which supports an 8mm offset, offering lower temperatures in the Ryzen 7000 and 9000 CPUs. The 0mm offset holes on the AMD mounting brackets are for AM4 and Ryzen 8000 CPUs, where the hot spot is in the center. In general, installation is easy, especially for the AMD sockets.
