Apple Unveils iPhone 17 with Bigger Display, Smarter Cameras, and the A19 Chip

Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17, bringing a larger and brighter display, smarter cameras, and the powerful new A19 chip. Pre-orders open September 12, with availability starting September 19.

Bigger, Brighter Display

The iPhone 17 introduces a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion technology, providing smoother scrolling and gaming experiences. With Ceramic Shield 2, the screen is tougher than ever, offering 3x better scratch resistance and reduced glare. Peak outdoor brightness now reaches 3000 nits, making it the brightest iPhone screen yet.

Smarter Camera System

The new Center Stage front camera makes selfies and video calls more dynamic. It automatically adjusts the frame to keep users centered, supports both portrait and landscape selfies, and records stabilized 4K HDR video.

On the back, the iPhone 17 features an upgraded 48MP Fusion Main camera with 2x telephoto and a new 48MP Ultra Wide camera. Users can capture sharper landscapes, detailed macro shots, and cinematic-quality videos in 4K Dolby Vision.

A19 Chip and Battery Life

Built on third-generation 3nm technology, the A19 chip delivers faster performance, smoother graphics, and supports Apple’s newest AI features in iOS 26. Thanks to improved efficiency, the iPhone 17 offers up to 30 hours of video playback and can charge to 50% in just 20 minutes with Apple’s new 40W charger.

iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence

Running on iOS 26, the iPhone 17 comes with Apple’s new intelligence features, including Live Translation for instant cross-language conversations, smarter photo search, and call/message screening tools.

Design, Colors, and Accessories

Available in five colors —black, lavender, mist blue, sage, and white —the iPhone 17 features thinner borders and a sleeker design. Accessories include new MagSafe silicone cases, a clear case, and an adjustable crossbody strap.

Environment and Sustainability

Apple highlighted that the iPhone 17 uses 30% recycled materials, including 100% recycled cobalt in the battery and 85% recycled aluminum in the frame. Packaging is fully fiber-based and recyclable.
