XPG HURRICANE MAG 120 ARGB 120mm Fan Review – Normal & Reverse Operation

The XPG HURRICANE MAG is fan that can rotate with the standard rotation (counterclockwise) and reverse (clockwise) through the push of a button. It also features instant magnetic linking, so you can link them together without using any cables. This makes them ideal for radiator cooling. 

To save you from the trouble of reading long paragraphs, and also to save me from writing a bunch of text, below are the essential features of XPG’s Hurricane MAG fan:

• Manual Fan Direction Control: Featuring a button on the built-in cable controller, you can easily push to change the fan’s direction.
• Stability with 6-Pole Motor Precision: The 6-pole motor ensures smoother, quieter operation by minimizing vibrations and maximizing performance.
• Patented Dual-Spin Blade Design: The fan blade design allows you to spin your fans in either direction while maintaining good cooling performance.

Given that this is a fully featured fan, I have to admit that I expected something better than the rifle bearing that XPG used. Preferably, a fluid dynamic bearing. Not that a rifle bearing won’t offer an extended lifetime under normal operating conditions, but in any case, a true FDB is better.

The XPG Hurricane MAG (standard direction) achieves a Bronze airflow and a Silver static pressure rating on the Cybenetics Phi scale. In reverse operation, it doesn’t accomplish any rating on the same scale.
