Xiaomi aims to take the next step in the batteries that will house its future smartphones as it prepares a new technology. Xiaomi was once the first to bring 200W wired charging.

The Chinese manufacturer is developing a technology with larger battery capacities ranging from 5500mAh to 7500mAh, paired with 100W or 120W fast charging capabilities. Here are the details on their charging times:

  • 5000mAh with 120W fast charging: 18 minutes
  • 5500mAh with 100W fast charging: 34 minutes
  • 6000mAh with 120W fast charging: 30 minutes
  • 6500mAh with 100W fast charging: 49 minutes
  • 7000mAh with 120W fast charging: 40 minutes
  • 7500mAh with 100W fast charging: 63 minutes

That’s a huge number, considering that most mobile phones range between 3,000+mAh and 5,000mAh. The 7,500mAh battery will be able to charge quickly with 100W wired charging, and more specifically, a smartphone will need about 63 minutes to charge to 100%. At the same time, if a smartphone with 7,000mAh is released, the battery will charge 120W and go to 100% within 40 minutes.

Other companies have released phones with many mAh, such as the Vivo X Fold3, which has 5,500 mAh, or the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, which amounts to 6,100mAh with 100W wired charging SuperVOOC fast charging, achieving a full charge in 36 minutes.

We do not know when Xiaomi will complete the development of this technology, but it seems that it will add it to its devices in the future.
