AMD Ryzen 9 9950X & 9900X prices appear on Best Buy and Newegg

For now, prices refer to the North American market, so a few more days of eagerness await us until we know the pricing in Europe since AMD delayed its launch to mid-August. However, official pricing will be announced shortly before the launch and might differ from what is depicted already. Nevertheless, pricing for the next-generation desktop chips also leaked. Listings for the Ryzen 9000 series processors were spotted on Best Buy and Newegg once more and appeared to reveal the official pricing:

• Ryzen 9 9950X: $599 (Newegg lists $649)
• Ryzen 9 9900X: $449
• Ryzen 7 9700X: $359
• Ryzen 5 9600X: $279

Pricing is the last big mystery of the Ryzen 9000 series, which AMD delayed after revealing quality control issues with some of the early batches. The Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X are set to launch on August 8, while the Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X arrive on August 15, and the cost difference between Best Buy and Newegg suggests that final pricing may still need to be settled. Meanwhile, the leaked prices indicate that AMD is trying to address complaints about the last-gen Ryzen 7000 series, which launched earlier at higher prices – the Ryzen 9 7950X at $699 and the Ryzen 9 7900X at $549. These processors currently cost €599 and €419, respectively.

The lower prices could help AMD lure customers away from its rival Intel, which has come under fire recently for its 13th and 14th generation Core desktop processors. Although Intel is preparing to release a fix soon, the instability issues are severe enough to cause potentially irreversible damage to the affected chips.

So far, Intel has not issued a product recall but encourages affected users to contact customer support.
