The Alphacool Apex Stealth Metal fan is a highly quality fan, but what about performance? After the review of its “Power” sibling, I decided to look at the less powerfull member with 2000 RPM max speed, to check how it performs.
As its name implies, the Alphacool Apex Stealth Metal fan uses a metallic frame for increased durability. I have already reviewed the Power model, which can spin at up to 3000 RPM, and in this review, I will look at the lower-speed model, which goes up to 2000 RPM. Given that the Power model had low airflow performance, I am prepared for mediocre results in this section by its lower-speed variant.
Alphacool states that the fan’s main body is completely decoupled from its frame, minimizing vibration noise, so rubber corners are unnecessary. The fan’s six-pole motor uses a hydrodynamic bearing, an improved version of the fluid dynamic bearing. The standard variant of the Apex Stealth fan spins up to 2000 RPM, while the power variant goes up to 3000 RPM. The strange thing is that both versions of this fan have the same price in most online stores I checked, which makes no sense. Typically, the less powerful version should be sold at a lower price.

After reading your old articles I bought 3× Thermaltake TT TOUGHFAN 14 Pro and 3× Thermaltake TT TOUGHFAN 12 Pro to replace Be Quiet! SILENT WINGS PRO 4 140mm PWM and 120mm (Airflow in a MSI MPG Quietude 100S).
I find the framework to be of higher quality, more mature. I like the wiring without a sleeve, easier to fold and store.
For the same dB noise there is a vastly superior CFM and Static Pressure, and all this for almost a quarter of the price less (in Europe).
I was impatiently waiting for the Alphacool Apex Stealth in 120mm (and 140mm in 2024?) but your rigorous testing proves that there is a problem in the design of the blades.
