SilverStone Hela 2500Rz ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Average Noise

The PSU’s average noise output is high. Even higher than the already loud Leadex 2800W.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C – 230V

The semi-passive fan mode doesn’t last long. It stops at around 440W. Generally, the load on the minor rails doesn’t significantly affect the fan speed. It is the load at 12V that plays the most critical role. After the semi-passive mode ends, the fan enters the 20-25 dBA region, and at 870W (at 12V), the 30 dBA mark is passed. The 35-40 dBA region is large, spanning from 980W to around 1300W. There is then a shorter period with noise between 40-45 dBA, followed by a larger one with 45-50 dBA. From 2030W and higher, the noise level is high, exceeding 50 dBA. All in all, the fan speed profile is aggressive, with the PSU exceeding 30 dBA before the load exceeds 1000W.
