Montech Titan PLA 750W ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Box & Bundle (or something else..)

The PSU didn’t come in a retail box, so a photo of one of my cats is here for your satisfaction.

Product Photos

The PSU also comes in white, making it the ideal choice for users with a similar-colored chassis. The fan grille is not restrictive at all. It barely protects the fan, so you should be careful not to have loose cables near it, which can stop the fan’s operation. Besides the typical AC receptacle and the power switch, we find a push button on the front side for toggling on/off the PSU’s semi-passive operation.

The modular panel around the back includes eleven sockets, one of which is a 12V-2×6 type, so this is a “true” ATX v3.1 PSU.

Cables

Modular Cables
Description Cable Count Connector Count (Total) Gauge In Cable Capacitors
ATX connector 20+4 pin (615mm) 1 1 16-18AWG No
4+4 pin EPS12V (710mm) 2 2 16AWG No
6+2 pin PCIe (760mm) 3 3 16-18AWG No
12+4 pin PCIe (760mm) (600W) 1 1 16-28AWG No
SATA 3.3 (515mm+160mm) 1 2 18AWG No
SATA (510mm+160mm+160mm+160mm) 2 8 18AWG No
4-pin Molex (510mm+160mm+160mm+160mm) 1 4 18AWG Νο

The PSU uses the same cable configuration as the 1000W model of the line. So there are many peripheral connectors, including 10x SATA and 4x Molex connectors. I don’t believe many users will utilize all of these connectors, with most mainboards supporting several NVMe drives with increased capacities. Most users nowadays don’t even install SSD/HDD drivers in their systems. If you want storage space, investing in a NAS or an external HDD is better than having an extra heat source inside your PC, especially if this is a plain HDD drive.

There are three dedicated PCIe 6+2 pin cables/connectors and a high-power one, set at 600W. Having the 12V-2×6 cable set at 600W in a 750W PSU is super weird.

The number (2x) of EPS connectors is standard for high-end PSUs, and both are installed on dedicated cables, which is the only way. Lastly, all cables are extra long, and the distance between the peripheral connectors is adequate.
