      1. Just installed it and I already like it. Cables are nice, everything’s working well, no issues with the native 12VHPWR cable. Unit keeps its fan off until 650W as advertised, and I rarely get near let alone reach that mark.

        Despite it being a “loud” unit, when the fan is on (almost never), it only spins at low RPM. Temperatures seem under control. No electrical noise from the unit at all either. Just a bit of solder smell, but that’s normal with new PSUs, all my previous ones had it for a few days.

        Seems like a quality unit and hope it lasts me a long while. If not, there’s always this FSP PSU to fall back on πŸ™‚

  1. Hi, will you also be evaluating the 850W model? Because this PSU is ATX 3.0 compliant, most people don’t need to overprovision and buy the 1000W unit to prevent transient spike shutdowns.

      1. Tell to FSP that a learge number of your subscribers are asking to review the 850W model cause they have it as the main candidate for buying.

        Since you have reviewed both the FSP HydroTi 1000W and the new Corsair HX1000i which one do you think is better?

  2. Is there a difference between this FSP 1000W model and the BeQuiet Dark Power 13 1000W? The circuit elements appear similar to BeQuiet’s 850W model, but that still performed noticeably worse in your tests, though efficiency is comparable between the two. Lastly, will the 1000W Dark Power 13 be reviewed to compare performance with this 1000W FSP unit?

    1. They are different platforms. This platform is currently used only by FSP and no other brand. I plan to review the DP13, yes. Already have it in my schedule.

      1. Thanks, looking forward to the DP13 review (the HTI-1000M is not available in my country). Regarding the DP13, I read on reddit some concerning things about fan rattle at low speed and multiple replacements until BeQuiet was able to offer a good one, and that apparently a Dark Power Pro 13 is also on the horizon for this year. Maybe that will share a platform with this FSP model? Who knows…

  3. I like how the Hela 1200w comes with flat 24 pin. The only problem I have with this unit outside of the price is the bulky 24 pin. Not fun for cable management.

  5. I got mine a couple of weeks ago and wanted to provide an update: The performance and dead silent operation is as we know likely the very best out there. However, I will say installing it didn’t go as smooth as I thought it would. First I had issues with the provided thumb screws. They wouldn’t screw in easily as it felt like the holes were too small. I was afraid of damaging the screw holes, but after a while I decided I had to just go for it. Secondly I had some issues connecting the cables. The motherboard cable was a little stiff and should’ve perhaps been a tiny bit longer than it was. The connector on the motherboard side was also split, but I eventually figured out how to secure it properly. Then I also was fiddling around quite a bit with connecting the power cables to all seven of my hard drives. Honestly, the cables on my 12 year old and much cheaper Corsair were much easier to work with. In the end, I’m not wanting for another PSU though. It will most likely be in by PC for many years to come.

  6. Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the fan stop feature on this PSU, so that the fan always spins?
    Im really interested in the Hydro Ti pro, but im not comfortable with a Semi-Passive operation, it feels to much like Start-Stop on cars, and i know first hand how many engines that stupid “feature” killed, so even when it isn’t an issue on PSU’s i don’t think i would by it if it would always run in Semi-Passive mode.

    1. Why do you think fan stop is such a bad feature? It is also a fan stop for graphics cards, are you uncomfortable with this? Also, I don’t know how a car’s engine start-stop is comparable to that. I can understand why you prefer an always-on PSU fan, tho.

      1. If there is no fan running there is no (or at least next to no) airflow, meaning components inside the PSU will run hotter, im not shure how big the diffrence between a fan running at extremly low rpm to no fan at all is, but i don’t like it.

        Also: all my GPU’s have a custom fan curve becaus i really hate 0rpm modes (and on many GPU’s the 0rpm-mode is louder than a custom profile because the GPU gets warm, ramps up the fans, wich is way louder than a constant ~600rpm, cools down, turns of the fans and repeat).

        To be fair Engine Start stop has way more issues. Like no oil being pumped through the engine, so if you ever wondered why so many new engines have issues that are related to not enough oil in important areas, here’s your answer.

        1. I get your point, bout psus and gcs. But bout cars, I am a bit out of line. I only know to drive them. I didnt even know that start-stop has problems.

    – Can crmaris please comment if this psu supports the new 12V-2Γ—6 connector on the psu side?
    – If not, does it make a big difference?
    – Will companies now, again, release updates psu this year?

    It’s only for 280 € in Europe right now, which I understand is a steal, and 1000 watts is recommended for those power hungry 350 – 450 w graphics card.

        12V are perfect but I’m not sure about others, also there was a repetitive warning sound coming from psu tester.

          1. Alright, thank you! Just tested it with MB and I have noticed coil whine on my unit, even on the standby. It’s similar what I was having with Seasonic Vertex but honestly a bit less noticeable. From the other side Fan is amazingly quiet.

  8. Would this PSU support using a 2x 8pin to 12+4pin rather than the included 12+4pin to 12+4pin? I really like the sounds of this but based on your recent recommendation would like to be able to future proof this once the new standard is adopted.

  9. Aris, best PSU coverage on the internet, thank you. I have just received a FSP Hydro Ti Pro 1000 with the now outdated 12+4 pin connector. Do you personally think it’s worth returning it for a new unit with the 12V2x6?

  10. Hey! I would like to ask, I bought this PSU for my new long-term build based on this review. Came from the shop, everything seems okay but when I shake it, I can hear something clicking inside. Its not like a loose debris or anything like that, its more like something is moving up and down maybe 1-2mm on a defined path. Like when you shake a motherboard with empty M2 slots and the heatsinks on them are moving. PSU is working normally. It is not a fan bearing, it does that even when I fix the fan.

    Is this normal for this unit?

      1. It is very hard to record, barely audible on the recording. But it is there. I have contacted FSP Support, lets see. I will let you know about result πŸ™‚

So, the unit was on RMA due to FSP request to perform check-up, I have received an answer from them that they have disassembled the unit, done both visual & measurements test and everything is in perfect order. In the meantime, I had 5 of these units at my disposal and each of them was doing same sound when I shook them, so I guess thats okay.

    I am the owner of a coil whiney Asus Rog STRIX 4090 OC – i had a gold Corsair 1000w psu BUT I bought this FSP PSU and BAM = Coil Whine completly GONE.

  12. And to think that this crazy efficiency is achieved all inside a 150mm enclosure, while other Titanium grade PSUs come with at least 170mm depth. This PSU is a work of witchcraft.

  13. I can get the Seasonic PX-1600 non ATX 3.0 (3.0 version is roughly 200EUR more) and the FSP Hydro Ti Pro 1000 for the same price, which one would you choose? Is it stupid to forgo ATX 3.0 at this time?

  14. I just received mine. It was manufactured in October 2023 and it has 12V2x6 connector! It’s strange because on the box it still says ATX 3.0: https://imgur.com/a/BQEElnn

    I hope this change doesn’t affect good performance results the older version was showing. Can it?

    How can I find out if my GPU supports new connector? I have RTX 4080 Asus x Noctua Edition.

  15. I just installed my new FSP Hydro Ti Pro 1000W into my PC. I bought a fairly decent high end pre-built with i9-13900KF, RTX 4070 Ti, 64 GB DDR5-6000 RAM and MSI z790 Motherboard. The computer came with a Apevia Prestige 1000W power supply, but I really wanted something higher end for the PSU, so I swapped out the Apevia for the FSP. Installation was very easy and fairly quick. I’m really happy with the build quality and how much quieter it is than the Apevia PSU. So far so good!
