“Ask More of Your Phone” — or catch it mid-commercial shoot on the street.
When it comes to keeping secrets, Google continues to be charmingly terrible at it — and we’re grateful. The Pixel 10 Pro is the latest victim of a good old-fashioned street-side leak, where a photographer just happened to walk past a full-scale commercial shoot for the yet-unannounced phone and decided to document the whole thing.
Yes, that really happened.
📸 A Pixel Leak Straight from Hollywood
Photographer Mark Teasdale spotted Google’s crew filming what appeared to be a new ad titled “Ask More of Your Phone”, and they were doing so with what clearly looked like the Pixel 10 Pro. Not only was the storyboard spotted on set referring to the “Pixel 10,” but the phone being used included the signature triple-camera setup and temperature sensor that scream “Pro edition.”
So much for secrecy.
🎨 New Colors, Same Look?
Design-wise, don’t expect a major revolution. Based on both the street-level photos and CAD renders leaked earlier, the Pixel 10 Pro looks nearly identical to the Pixel 9 Pro, complete with that iconic camera bar. But while the shape isn’t changing, the colors are. According to leaks, we’re getting a splash of freshness this year:
Pixel 10 Colors:
-
Obsidian (Black)
-
Blue
-
Iris (Purple)
-
Limoncello (Yellow)
Pixel 10 Pro / Pro XL Colors:
-
Obsidian (Black)
-
Green
-
Sterling (Grey)
-
Porcelain (White)
Google is apparently betting on bold hues to help these devices stand out, especially since the physical design remains so familiar.
📅 Launch Timing: August is the New October
Following last year’s surprise Pixel 9 launch in August, it seems Google is sticking to its earlier release schedule. The Pixel 10 series is expected to launch in August 2025, ahead of Apple’s iPhone 17. This time, the phones are expected to debut with Android 16 pre-installed, thanks to Google accelerating the OS timeline.
📐 Meet the Pixel 10 Family
As with the Pixel 9 series, we’re expecting three Pro devices:
-
Pixel 10 Pro (6.3″)
-
Pixel 10 Pro XL (6.8″)
-
Pixel 10 Pro Fold (likely 8″ inside, 6.3″ cover display)
These sizes are virtually unchanged from last year. CAD renders confirm the familiar layout and dimensions — and yes, even the foldable gets the same stacked pill-shaped camera design as its predecessor.
📸 Cameras: Same Hardware, New AI Magic?
Sources suggest no major changes to the Pixel 10 Pro’s camera hardware — same main, ultrawide, and telephoto sensors. But as always with Google, the real evolution is in software and AI.
Expect the Tensor G5 to unlock new AI imaging tricks, building on features like Magic Editor and Best Take. One leak hints at a revamped Pixel Sense assistant, capable of surfacing context-aware suggestions based on your screen activity and habits.
If Google nails this, Pixel Sense could be what Assistant always wanted to be: an AI that knows what you need before you do.
⚙️ Tensor G5: Built by TSMC, Powered by AI
The Tensor G5 chip is the biggest internal upgrade. For the first time, Google ditches Samsung’s Exynos line in favor of a custom TSMC-built processor, likely using a 3nm process. That means better efficiency, tighter performance, and potentially longer battery life.
While some leakers caution that the G5 might still resemble a “refined G4,” the bigger story is how it enhances Google’s AI and on-device intelligence, not raw benchmark numbers.
🔋 Battery + Charging: Still Some Unknowns
We’re expecting similar battery sizes:
-
Pixel 10 Pro: ~4700 mAh
-
Pixel 10 Pro XL: ~5060 mAh
-
Pixel 10 Pro Fold: ~4650 mAh
Charging might stick to 27W (Pro) and 37W (XL), but there’s hope for some improvement. What might not improve? Pricing.
💸 Pricing and Storage: Familiar Numbers, With a Catch
The base prices are likely unchanged:
-
Pixel 10 Pro: $999
-
Pixel 10 Pro XL: $1,099
-
Pixel 10 Pro Fold: $1,799
However, rumors suggest Google may ditch the 128GB model, making 256GB the new baseline, which means you’ll be paying more even if the sticker price stays the same.
🔮 Familiar, But Smarter
Google’s Pixel 10 Pro isn’t reinventing the wheel — it’s refining it with better AI, a smarter chip, and a splash of style. While the design remains a near-copy of last year, the real story lies inside: AI-first features, personalized assistance, and a Google experience that finally feels a step ahead rather than playing catch-up.
So if you’re hoping for a dramatic redesign, you may be disappointed. But if you want a phone that quietly gets more intelligent every day, the Pixel 10 Pro is shaping up to be Google’s smartest phone yet — even if you already saw it months before you were supposed to.
